Discover Your Connection to the Seine River Greenway’s Newest Trail

For the fourth consecutive year, Save Our Seine will be holding an outdoor event to celebrate International Trails Day.
This year’s event is highlighted by the opening and guided walks along the new, 2km Seine River South Trail that extends from the Shorehill Bridge to near Creek Bend Road.

Saturday, June 2
Time: 11 am – 1 pm
Map of Trail: Bois des Esprit Trail
Gathering Area: Meet east of Royalwood Bridge, at Shorehill Dr. & St. Anne’s Rd. on the large open greenspace
Parking:

  • Extra Foods Parking lot, abutting St. Anne’s Road next to Southglen Drive.
  • Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne’s Road, south of Shorehill Drive.

Program
11 am begin gathering at Royalwood Park, next to Shorehill Bridge entrance to Royalwood
11:15 – 11:30 welcome,, award to Dave Watson,
11:30 -12:00 Pork Barbeque, Metis fiddler, live raptor, SOS and other displays, sale of wood carvings,
12:00 – 12:15 ceremonial opening of Seine River South Trail with Dave Watson and elected officials at Morrow Church entrance
12:15 guided walks along Seine River South Trial ( walk to take 45 minutes to one hour).

Cyclists on Bishop Grandin Greenway’s ‘Between the Rivers’ event are invited to join us around 11:30 at the Royalwood greenspace for some barbeque pork and the opening of the new trail.
